About At The Meridian

Good work deserves a digital presence that makes its value clear.

At The Meridian is a strategic website agency for established service businesses that have grown beyond the website representing them. We combine business strategy, positioning, messaging, design, custom development, visibility, and digital systems to build a digital presence around where your business is going, not where it used to be.

Our point of view

The website isn't the product. Your business is.

You aren't coming to Meridian because your business needs prettier typography or a trendier homepage. You're investing because something in the business needs to change.

Maybe you've outgrown the website that got you here. Maybe the right customers aren't finding you. Maybe they find you but don't understand why you're different. Maybe your digital presence makes an established company look smaller, less experienced, or less capable than it really is. Or maybe your business has become more sophisticated than the systems supporting it.

That's why we start with the business, not the design.

  • Understand before we create

We learn how the business works, who you're trying to reach, what customers care about, and where you're trying to go before deciding what the website needs to become.

  • Strategy before preference

We'd rather explain why we're recommending something than ask you to choose between arbitrary options based on personal taste.

  • Build for what comes next

The goal isn't simply to replace your current website. It's to create a foundation that can support visibility, content, campaigns, systems, and growth long after launch.

Our story

Built for the gap between doing well and not looking like it online.

At The Meridian exists for businesses that have already proven themselves in the real world, but whose digital presence hasn't kept pace.

They're doing great work. Customers trust them. The business has grown. The team has evolved. The services have changed. But somewhere along the way, the website stopped telling the full story.

Another redesign alone doesn't solve that. If you don't understand the positioning, the customer, the search opportunity, the business goals, and the problem behind the redesign, you can spend a lot of money creating a prettier version of the same problem.

Meridian was built around a different approach: understand what the business needs first, then determine what the digital experience should do about it.

Founder and engineer

Hi, I'm Brooke Kennison.

I founded At The Meridian around a belief that exceptional businesses deserve exceptional digital experiences. Not websites built simply to check a box, but thoughtful products shaped by research, strategy, and an attention to detail that makes the business behind them easier to understand, trust, and choose.

I'm an engineer, not a marketer. My background is development, strategy, SEO, and automation, and I'm based in Westfield, Indiana, just north of Indianapolis. I build every At The Meridian site myself, so when you have a question, you're talking to the person who wrote the code.

I love the design side of this work. I care about typography, photography, details, interaction, and creating something that feels unmistakably like the business behind it. But I'm even more interested in figuring out why we're creating it.

That curiosity comes from more than designing websites. I've worked inside a dental practice and seen firsthand what patients notice, question, and need before they feel comfortable choosing a provider. I've flipped a home and experienced construction from the customer's side, evaluating contractors, making expensive decisions, and learning just how much trust, communication, and clarity influence who gets hired.

Those experiences shape the way I approach businesses I've never worked inside, too. I want to understand how your customers think. What are they comparing? What makes them hesitate? What aren't your competitors saying? Why does the business feel more impressive in person than it does online? Where is the business losing time because the digital systems behind it haven't kept up?

Those are the questions that shape Meridian projects. My role isn't simply to give you what you ask for and make it look good. It's to understand what you're trying to accomplish, challenge assumptions when necessary, and help determine what should actually be built.

Before Meridian

I learned service businesses from the inside.

Before building strategic websites, I spent years working as a dental assistant. Dentistry and web strategy may not seem especially related, but that experience shaped how I think about this work.

I saw firsthand that a service business isn't just the service being performed. It's the phone call. The first impression. The person answering a question. The nervous new customer. The scheduling process. The trust built before someone ever sits in the chair. And the dozens of small experiences that decide whether someone thinks, these are my people.

That perspective never left. Today Meridian works with service businesses across industries, but the same principle applies: your customers experience the business long before they buy from it, and your website is part of that experience.

What we believe

A few things we're pretty stubborn about.

  • Clarity beats clever

Customers shouldn't have to decode your headline to understand what you do.

  • Research beats assumptions

We'd rather understand why customers buy than guess based on demographics or trends.

  • Custom should have a reason

Custom development isn't valuable because it's custom. It's valuable when it lets the website fit the business better.

  • SEO starts before copy

Search strategy should shape the sitemap and the content, not get sprinkled onto a finished website before launch.

  • Design should support the message

The strongest visual decision isn't always the flashiest one. It's the one that helps communicate what matters most.

  • The business comes first

We aren't trying to sell you every service Meridian offers. We're trying to work out what your business actually needs.

Why At The Meridian

A meridian is a point of reference.

A meridian is a line used to establish position and direction. That is what the name represents for us.

Before you can decide where you're going, you need to understand where you are. We do the same thing with businesses. We establish the position. We understand the customer. We study the landscape. We determine the direction. And only then do we start creating.

At The Meridian is the point where understanding becomes direction, and direction becomes something we can build.

How we work

The process is part of the product.

A strategic website shouldn't depend on whether inspiration happens to strike. We've built a defined process that moves every project from understanding the problem to creating the right solution.

  1. 01

    Understand

Learn the business, customers, market, and what's not working.

  2. 02

    Position

Clarify why the right customers should choose you.

  3. 03

    Plan

Map the message, pages, search strategy, and customer journey.

  4. 04

    Create

Design and build the digital experience your business needs.

  5. 05

    Grow

Build immediate and long-term visibility, care, and continued improvement.

A good fit

Built for established service businesses ready for their next stage.

Meridian is generally the best fit for businesses that have already built something worth finding: contractors, dental and healthcare practices, professional service firms, home service companies, and local or regional service businesses. The industry matters less than the situation.

We aren't trying to be the right agency for every business. We're trying to be exceptionally good for the businesses we're built to serve.

  • Your business has outgrown its current website

  • Your reputation is stronger than your digital presence

  • You're ready to invest in strategy instead of another quick redesign

  • You want someone to think critically about the business, not just execute a list of requests

  • You care about building something you can keep using and growing

  • You want a long-term foundation rather than another website you'll replace in two years

What to expect

We're probably different from the website project you've done before.

The goal isn't to leave with exactly the website you imagined walking in. It's to leave with the website your business actually needed.

  • Not a template shop

We don't choose a layout first and figure out how to squeeze your business into it.

  • Not an order taker

We want your ideas and expertise. But you're hiring us to think, recommend, and occasionally tell you when we believe there's a better approach.

  • Not a volume agency

We aren't trying to push as many websites through production as possible.

  • Not design for design's sake

Beautiful matters. But clarity, usability, positioning, visibility, and business value matter more.
